The Limerick Wild Geese Festival

The Limerick Wild Geese Festival (formerly known as the Limerick Bastille Day Wild Geese Festival) commemorates the Flight of the Wild Geese and celebrates the long-standing friendship between Ireland and France. It was founded in 2019 by the Honorary Consul of France in Limerick with the support of the Limerick City & County Council. It could not take place in 2020 due to the pandemic. The 2021 and 2022 editions were jointly organised by the Consular Agency of France in Limerick and the Limerick Civic Trust. The 2023 and subsequent editions are organised by Alliance Française Limerick, one of the city’s longest running nonprofit organisations.
