Originaire du sud-est de la France, Loïc GUYON réside en Irlande depuis 2002. Il est, depuis 2009, Directeur du Département d’Etudes françaises de Mary Immaculate College (University of Limerick). Ancien Président de l’Association des Etudes Françaises et Francophones d’Irlande (ADEFFI) et Ancien Président de l’Association des Membres de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques en Irlande (AMOPA Irlande), Loïc GUYON est Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Mérite et Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes académiques. Il a été nommé Consul honoraire de France à Limerick le 28 mai 2019. En 2020, il a lancé et dirige depuis le Sarsfield Homecoming Project, un projet de recherche consistant à tenter de localiser et rapatrier en Irlande les restes du héros irlandais Patrick Sarsfield, mort au service de la France en 1693.
Loïc GUYON originates from the South-East of France and has been residing in Ireland since 2002. In 2009, he was appointed as Head of the Department of French Studies of Mary Immaculate College (University of Limerick). A former President of the Irish Association for French & Francophone Studies (ADEFFI) and former President of the Irish Association of the Members of the Order of Academic Palms (AMOPA Irlande), Loïc GUYON is a Knight in the National Order of Merit and a Knight in the Order of Academic Palms. He was appointed as Honorary Consul of France in Limerick on 28 May 2019. In 2020, he launched and has been leading since the Sarsfield Homecoming Project, a research project aimed at locating and repatriating to Ireland the remains of the Irish hero Patrick Sarsfield who died in the service of France in 1693.
